OBJECTIVE

To become a Professional Engineer in the field of Civil Engineering. To become a contracted inspector, structural designer, or a home inspector.

CHILDHOOD

I was born and raised in the coal valleys of West Virginia. Spent most of my childhood days outdoors with friends, family, and my faithful companion Cinnamon. Cinnamon was a Norwegian/Collie mix.

 

EDUCATION                

I attended Kimberly Elementary Grade School until its close and then attended Valley Elementary Grade School receiving academic achievements each year.

 

I attended Montgomery Middle School through grade 7. The day after completing the 7th grade we moved to Canvas WV. I then completed my Junior High & High School at Nicholas County High.

 

I went on to study Civil Engineering under the prestigious name and faculty of West Virginia Tech now deemed West Virginia University Institute of Technology. My discipline was Structural design but all disciplines were studied.

I was the WVUIT 2004-2005 concrete canoe project manager where I led a team of 40+ students and I am a very active ASCE Vice-President.

 

Computers                   

Software / Languages

  • Studied software tools for Engineers at WVUIT such as AutoCAD, Excel, MathCAD, MatLAB, and SAP2000 which I used to develop engineering tools such as the rebar worksheet used by WVDOH District 9.

  • AaronOutpost.com, I design ASP scripts and write tutorials on how to install IIS, write ASP, and use Access Database.

 

Business                      

New & Gauley River Adventures, Lansing, WV (5/99 - today)

Managed many aspects of small business such as receipts and disbursements, scheduling, organization, retail management, reservations of large groups, and filled positions in absence.

 

Public Speaking

  • I am very active ASCE Vice President. (3 semesters)

  • I have been a professional river guide for 5 years where I entertained large groups and was responsible for lives of adults and children in up to class V+ whitewater.
